CPD – Latent class analysis of HIV prevention life skills and influencing factors
I completed a review of the article “Latent class analysis of HIV prevention life skills and influencing factors among university students: a cross-sectional study,” published in April 2026. The study explored HIV prevention-related life skills among university students and identified distinct behavioural and educational profiles using latent class analysis. The research examined factors influencing HIV prevention knowledge, decision-making abilities, communication skills, risk perception, and health behaviours among young adults in tertiary education settings. The article highlighted that HIV prevention life skills are influenced by multiple factors including educational background, access to health information, peer influence, family support, and psychological wellbeing. The findings emphasized the importance of targeted health education programs and early intervention strategies to strengthen awareness, self-efficacy, and responsible health decision-making among young people. The study also reinforced the role of holistic and preventative approaches in promoting long-term public health outcomes.
