CPD – Hormonal Therapies and Mitochondrial Demands, Leah Hechtmann

Presented by Designs for health.
This webinar discussed the important role of Mitochondria in women's hormonal issues, and why addressing mitochondrial health is essential before hormones will respond to treatment. Oocytes contain more mitochondria than heart cells, and mitochondrial health passes from grandmother to mother to child. It covered mitochondria's role in steroidogenesis and hormone synthesis pathways and how mitochondrial dysfunction means accelerated aging. The role of ubiquinol was discussed as well as light therapy recommendations such as morning sunlight + evening firelight.
