Can I join a State Auxiliary?
Yes. Sate Auxiliaries are appointed in each state where there is a minimum of 5 members interested in establishing and maintaining one. See State Auxiliaries for more details.

If I have a query who do I contact?
Your first point of contact should be your Sate Auxiliary if the matter is state related. If your state does not have a formed State Auxiliary or your query is of a federal nature contact the Federal Administration Office  by e-mail or on Free call 1800 11 77 66.

Can I stand for the Federal Executive?
Any Provisional or Full financial voting member is eligible to serve on the Federal Executive. Such members are normally nominated to represent their state via their formed State Auxiliary. If there is no formed State Auxiliary in their state they can be appointed by the Federal Executive to fill a casual vacancy at the discretion of the Federal Executive.

Do I have to use CMA standardised receipts?
No. You may use your own style receipts if they clearly contain all the information required by law and health funds etc. These essential details can be obtained via the Federal Administration  Office.

If I am not currently practicing, do I have to maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance?
No. However, you must supply the Federal Administration Office with a letter confirming your non practice status so it can be kept on file. 

If I am not currently practicing, do I have to maintain my membership?
No. However, members must realise that when they apply to re-join the CMA they will have to meet the entry requirements of that date, which may have increased since they originally joined. This can result in previous members being ineligible for membership without considerable educational upgrades.

How do I introduce a colleague to join?
You can :

  1. Hand them a membership application form which you are entitled to keep on hand. Contact the Federal Administration  Office. for a supply.
  2. Refer them to one of your Federal State Representatives.
  3. Refer them directly to the Federal Administration Office.
  4. Refer them to this web site.

Which college should I choose to either upgrade or maintain my qualifications?
You will need to contact several colleges before you find one that individually suits your needs. However, you should choose a college that:

  1. is government accredited
  2. will recognise your prior learning
  3. has a good standing within the profession
  4. offers you the flexibility you require eg distance education for example
  5. reasonable pricing structure

Can I have a list of members?
Lists of members due to privacy legislation is restricted, however you can often obtain contacts within your state of other CMA members via your State Auxiliary.

Can I advertise in the CMA Newsletter?
Members may place classified type advertisements in the CMA News free of charge. Display adds are not permitted at this time.

Can I have a link from the CMA web site to my web site?
Yes, this is a free service to all members. Simply supply your web site address [URL] to the CMA Webmaster via Federal Administration Office 

Is there any promotional material available for my clinic?
Promotional material is available from time to time including brochures, stickers key rings, hats, T-Shirts etc. Members should contact the Federal Administration Office to check what is currently available.
